protein Diet

Dieting is a kind of science. If you are not well aware of it, you should first carry out the necessary research in order to make sure that you are equipped with all the knowledge you need regarding the specific ways to adopt in case of dieting. For instance, if you are new to dieting, you may not be aware of the fact that a number of people prefer a High Protein Diet Plan when it comes to shedding their flab. In other words, they resort to the consumption of food products like meat, eggs, pulses etc, which are high in protein and stay away from carbohydrate rich food products like rice, cereals etc.

Many people think that a high protein diet plan is all they need when it comes to getting rid of all that fat in their body. However, it is very important to mention that it is very essential to assist such a kind of plan with proper exercise. Other wise, the body can get adversely affected and the body organs like heart, kidneys etc. can get strained due to over consumption of proteins.

Eating a lot of protein rich food will help you to take off all the extra carbohydrate from your body. This is done in two ways. Firstly, since you are already not subjecting to the practice of ingesting carbohydrate rich food, your body is not getting any carbohydrate to store. Secondly, since the body is not getting any carbohydrate from external sources, it has to utilise the body deposits to ensure that it is able to provide the adequate energy to allow the normal functioning of vital body processes.

Eating marine products may boost your High Protein Diet Plan as they are very rich in proteins. There is one more advantage of a high protein diet. And this time it is not for people who are on dieting. Bodybuilders and athletes who want good muscles can also avail the benefits of such a kind of food plan because it provides them with the ability to synthesize new tissues and this results in bigger and bulkier muscles.

Picking The Best Protein Supplement For Your Muscles

protein supplements

Many athletes today are adding a variety of supplements to their diet in order to improve their athletic performance. One such supplement is a protein supplement. There are several different proteins to choose from, but the most popular ones are whey, rice, and soy. Taking a protein supplement can help with the growth and repair of muscle tissue, making it very valuable for athletes. Whey, rice, and soy protein supplements differ slightly in what they offer and what other benefits they have.

Whey Protein

Whey protein supplements are the most commonly used. Whey is derived from casein, which is a protein found in cow’s milk. Many bodybuilders use whey protein supplements because of their need to develop more muscle mass. Whey is absorbed into the body quickly, which makes it a good choice for athletes looking to gain muscle mass. Casein is also available as a protein supplement, but it is absorbed slower in the system than whey is, making it a good before bed supplement. The slow release keeps the protein levels elevated longer – about 7 hours – than whey protein (3-4 hours), so the body keeps working as it’s asleep. Whey protein can also help boost immune system, making it even more appealing to athletes.

Soy Protein

Soy protein is derived from soybeans, which are rich in protein. Soy protein is a good substitute for whey for lactose intolerant people. It is also a good substitute for vegetarians who may not be getting much protein in their diet. Soy protein does have an added benefit of lowering cholesterol and preventing heart-related diseases. It also has a higher effect on antioxidant status in the body, which whey and rice protein do not have.

Rice Protein

Rice protein is derived from rice and is another good alternative for lactose intolerant people. Rice protein is easier to digest for some people than soy, so some experimenting may be required to figure out which one works best for you. Rice is also safe for people with food allergies, where soy and whey may not be, depending on sensitivity to these derivatives.

Concentrate vs. Isolate

There are two main forms that protein comes in: the concentrate form and the isolate form. The concentrate form is about 80% pure protein, while the isolate form is about 90% pure protein. The concentrate form of whey contains more fat and lactose than the isolate form. Depending on your protein needs, there are reasons for choosing the concentrate over the isolate and visa versa.

Protein supplements are a smart and healthy way to build muscle mass, or even to just contribute to a diet. Whey, rice, and soy protein supplements all come with added health benefits, which make them very beneficial to your body. Price, taste, and several other factors can affect your preference, so many people have to try out several before they find one they like. The goal of the additional protein should also be taken into consideration. If you are a vegetarian who is looking for a diet supplement, there is a specific protein for you. If you are an athlete looking to build up some muscle mass, there are particular protein supplements for doing just that. Either way, taking a protein supplement is a great way to keep your body operating well and staying healthy!

3 Protein Supplements Explained

protein supplements

In my previous articles I discussed the various protein sources available. Many food groups can provide you with a rich and tasty source of protein. However, protein supplements are a quick and convenient way to effectively supplement your diet with additional protein. In this article I discuss in greater detail the various types of protein supplements available and how to effectively complement your diet with these products.

Now as I mentioned above, there are multiple food groups which can provide you with adequate levels of protein. So the first question you are probably asking is why should you use protein supplements if you can get sufficient protein from your diet? Well to be perfectly honest, protein supplements are not for everyone. For many people dietary sources of protein are perfectly adequate.

Protein supplements are very useful for individuals who are participating in a muscle building program. This is because weight training places an additional burden on your muscles so they require extra protein to repair and grow back stronger. Studies have also suggested that protein can help boost your metabolism and suppress your appetite making protein a good supplemnt for weight loss too. It is possible to consume this extra protein in your diet but protein supplements are often a quicker, more convenient source.

Now that you understand the usefulness of protein supplements you are probably wondering what types of protein supplement are available? Protein supplements come in a number of different forms which include bars, powders, drinks, shakes and more. There are also multiple different types of protein supplement and I have outlined the major types below:

1) WHEY PROTEIN:- This is the most popular type of protein supplement because it can be absorbed very quickly after working out. It is also considered to be the most efficient because it has the highest biological value of all proteins and therefore promotes the greatest lean muscle gains. The main drawback with whey protein is that it is only active for a short time after consumption.

2) MISCELLAR CASEIN:- This protein is comparatively rich compared with whey and it takes your body a lot longer to absorb. It is useful to consume casein just before you go to bed or on days where you are not doing any weight training because it is a slow release protein and so provides your muscles with an extended protein supply.

3) EGG AND SOY PROTEIN:- As the name suggests, these protein supplements consist mostly of natural ingredients. They are not as rich as casein supplements but they are easier to digest. Egg and soy protein also have a number of unique benefits compared with whey protein and soy protein in particular is one of the most important aspects of a vegetarian’s diet.

I hope this article has opened your eyes to the various protein supplements available. Whilst not neccessary for everyone, they can be a quick, useful and convenient source of rapid or slow release protein (depending upon the type) which fulfill a number of goals including muscle gain, muscle toning and weight loss. If you are currently taking part in any kind of physical fitness training I highly recommend you read this article again and think about whether you should consider protein supplements.

High Protein Diet – Importance of Protein Diet

protein Diet

Protein is an important constituent of the regular diet. It helps in the growth of the body. A lack of protein in one’s regular diet can cause a disease called Kwashiorkor. This disease weakens the respiratory and the circulatory system. It also leads to reduction of muscle mass, impaired resistance and brings down the growth in the body.

Adverse effects of high protein diet

There are certain potential side effects if the intake of proteins increases than the average daily level. However it has a great impact on the functioning of the kidneys. Therefore people who live on high protein diet should exercise regularly. This helps the kidney to flush out wastes from the body more effectively.

Excessive protein in diet also leads to absorbing of calcium from the bones. The acids, which are produced by the body when it digests protein, are taken in the body with the help of calcium from the bones. Therefore if the body is not receiving a calcium rich diet then the body tends to take the required calcium from the bones. In a way it increases the chances of breaking bones as the bones become weak and fragile with the absorbing of calcium.

Too much of protein can also increase the chance of allergies. Rich sources of protein like egg, chicken, and fish totally eliminates the consumption of carbohydrates. Therefore the body does not possess enough fats to break down because both proteins and fats are required for continuing the life process. This results in deficient oxidation or breaking of fatty acids and several proteins. Ultimately the outcome is the development of acidic ketone bodies. Development of acidic ketone bodies gives rise to a condition called ketosis. It is difficult to survive in such a condition because ketosis gives rise to nauseatic condition and lessens the consumption of food.

Striking the right balance

On the other hand lack of sufficient protein one’s diet is also equally harmful as protein is the key component required fro growth. Therefore, it is better to have a healthy diet, which is actually a balance of all the essential components like protein, fats, mineral, vitamins and carbohydrates. Such a diet includes vegetables, grains, pulses, plant protein and at the same time dairy products and low fat meat. Such a healthy diet helps in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

breakfast diet

rs have found an effective diet.

Researchers from Venezuela have found a solution for overweight people that wants to have a permanent weight reduction.

The diet starts the day with a big, well composed bereakfast with carbohydrates, proteins and fat. The rest of the day you should eat small meals with very little carbohydrates.

If a diet shall be effective over longer periods of time, it has to give a good feeling of not being hungry at the same time as it set a stop for your sugar cravings. The researchers tell us they have found such a method or diet now.

The researchers had 94 overweight women with little activities on their schedule on two different diets. 46 of the participants should follow a traditional diet almost without any carbohydrates at all. The daily ration allowed for 1085 calories, and allowed for only 17 grams of carbohydrates, like from bread, fruit, breakfast mixes or milk. In addition the women could eat 51 grams of proteins and 78 grams of fat pr day.  The breakfast consisted of around 290 calories and was the smallest meal of the day.

The other group could eat 1240 calories a day, with 46 grams of fat, 93 grams of proteins and as much as 97 grams of carbohydrates. More than half of the carbohydrates would be in the breakfast.

The trial went on for 8 months, where in the first 4 months the participants focused on weight loss. The last 4 months the women should focus on not gaining any weight.

At halfway time, the women in the low carbohydrate diet had lost almost 13 kilos, as the ladies in the big breakfast diet had lost almost 11 kilos. But after the second half of the race had gone it was pretty clear who the winners were and were the wieghtloss was most effective.

The women in the low carbohydrate diet group had gained in average over 8 kilos, while the women in the big breakfast group had continued to loose weight and had actually lost over 7 kilos more.

They had all together lost around 21 percent of their body weight, while the other group had only lost around 4.5 percent.

Protein Diet – The Healthy Way Of Living

protein Diet

You need protein for the repair and growth of the body. Protein is composed of chains of amino acids. There are only twenty common amino acids but they are combined in nature in an infinite number of ways so that proteins differ in structure and in their enzymatic qualities.

In the old days scientists spoke of first and second class proteins. Today we know that out of the twenty amino acids, eight are essential in that the adult cannot make them in the body, and the rest are called nonessential because they can be made from the essential ones. One more amino acid, histidine, is needed for growing infants, and so is essential to begin with, but not later on. It is a mistake to think of the non-essential amino acids as being without value, for they too are found in the cells of our bodies; it is only that we can do without them if we have to. The essential amino acids are: isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine. Most vegetable sources of protein are lacking in one or other of the essential amino acids, but eggs, milk, meat and fish contain all the amino acids in the correct proportions. However if you mix grains, seeds, pulses, nuts and legumes so that your diet is not consisting of a single type of vegetable protein, then the biological value of the mixture is excellent.

Indeed such a diet is good because if does not contain the saturated fat commonly present in meat. The body does not need a great deal of protein, provided this supplies the essential amino acids in the right mixture. The unwanted amino acids are converted into heat and energy and not materials for the growth and repair of the cells.

Only recently did the World Health Organization realize that vast sums were being spent on giving too much protein to the starving and under-privileged millions, when all the poor were doing was to convert the excess protein to much-needed energy. When energy providing foods are given instead the protein levels usually do not need supplementation.
